Imagine squeezing along an underground tunnel underwater! Total darkness except for the beam from your diving lamp. Then you emerge into a wonderous cavern never before revealed to human eyes. This was the experience of diver Martyn Farr when he discovered Crag Cave, near Castleisland, in 1983.
This mysterious ‘subterranean garden’, where delicate stalactites and stalagmites have grown in the dark over aoens of years, is now open to the public. This family-run centre warmly welcomes visitors, with log-fire and home-cooked foods.
A visit to Crag Caves will delight all ages and guides will be pleased to explain the origins of the cave, describe its many beautiful formations and introduce visitors to a world older than mankind.
